rangeofview: I ran into a gentlemen named Neil who wanted me to help spread the word about 600 protesters who occupied a vacant hotel on October 10, 2011 to demand housing for the more than 10,000 homeless.  Speakers from Homes Not Jails stated that according to the 2010 San Francisco Census there are 32,000 vacant housing units in San Francisco.  This powerful demonstration made up of the Homes Not Jails Collective, OccupySF, and other local activist was not reported by major media news sources.
